Our Programs

Power of Relaxation

Queens Village is a supportive community of powerful Black women who come together to relax, repower and take care of themselves and each other. We reduce black women’s stress by creating space for them to relax, rest, and repower. Relaxation is crucial to the process of healing. Our community needs healing and we are dedicated to supporting this process

Invest in Leadership

We invest in Black women’s leadership, social capital and power through community advisory boards. We also invest in our youth through entrepreneurial endeavors, such as starting a Red Cross certified baby-sitting business. Queens Village Center has also hosted a series of financial competency workshops. We are dedicated to freeing ourselves financially.

Change the Narrative

We create spaces and content for and by black women that celebrates and amplifies their voices. We advocate for adequate health care and cultural competent health care providers. Our voices and bodies matter, and how we care for our bodies is our choice. Black womens’ narratives are our stories and they matter!

How Queens Village can assist pregnant moms.

Queens Village can help moms get connected to various resources in the community. We want to make things easier for moms. We are here to connect the dots. Our goal is to connect moms to competent and culturally competent healthcare professionals and community health care workers. We also have programs that educate about breastfeeding and best sleeping practices. Completion of these programs results in incentives and a free pack ‘n’ play for babies safe sleeping. Please contact us to learn more about these opportunities.

Create Opportunities

We promote economic and professional opportunities for Black women to succeed and flourish by promoting local African-American businesses and agencies. We also provide connections to opportunities for African-American women to become doulas and lactation counselors to positively impact culturally competent healthcare in our community.
